The closure of the shipping route from Java to Bali was caused by flash floods that occurred since Sunday, October 16, 2022, which crossed the Bilukpoh bridge as a border covered with tree trunks and high flooding, causing long traffic jams.
The closure of the national road access is in collaboration with the police to anticipate a bigger impact, it can be seen that the water level increases to close the bridge cross area. Jembrana Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner I Dewa Gede Juliana said, "The closure is temporarily closed because it is prone to heavy water". Because the main road access Denpasar - Gilimanuk through Jembrana was cut off, it resulted in using an alternative road via Singaraja, Buleleng Regency, Bali. In addition, a number of points on the Denpasar - Gilimanuk route were also inundated with flood water.
